Amazon said Wednesday that it will hold on-the-spot hiring events Aug. 2 at 10 of its warehouses around the country.
Its Kansas City-area sites aren’t among them.
The hiring events will be in Baltimore; Chattanooga, Tenn.; Eetna, Ohio; Fall River, Mass.; Hebron, Ky.; Kenosha, Wis.; Kent, Wash.; Robbinsville, N.J.; Romeoville, Ill.; and Whitestown, Ind.
The company said it also will host off-site hiring events on the same day in Oklahoma City and Buffalo, N.Y.
The e-commerce behemoth said it needs to fill 50,000 U.S. jobs, and it intends to hire thousands of them between 8 a.m. and noon at the designated locations.
The company has been investing billions of dollars in new facilities to respond to customers’ ordering and shipping demands. At the end of the first quarter this year, it reported 351,000 employees, a 43 percent leap from the first quarter 2016.
