New CEO at St. Mary’s in Blue Springs

Deb Ohnoutka, formerly vice president of nursing for Carondelet Health, is the new chief executive officer of St. Mary’s Medical Center in Blue Springs.

Before she joined the Carondelet system in 2010, Ohnoutka worked at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. She holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Midland Lutheran College and a master’s in health care administration from Central Michigan State University.

The appointment was announced by Jim Summersett, regional chief executive officer for Prime Healthcare Services, which now owns four hospitals in the Kansas City area. St. Mary’s and St. Joseph Medical Center were acquired from Ascension Health this year, joining Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan., and St. John Hospital in Leavenworth under the Prime umbrella.
