FitBark, a Kansas City startup that sells an activity monitor for dogs, was announced Thursday as one of 20 U.S. finalists in a competition to pitch themselves to venture capitalists.
The annual Get in the Ring competition will pare the list to five in October, and the North American competition will be held in November in Kansas City.
Another Kansas City startup, EyeVerify, won the entire international competition last year in Europe.
The Kauffman Foundation announced the 20 U.S. finalists. The nearest other finalist to Kansas City is HyperBorean, a “cleantech” company in Winfield, Kan.
