Forum on Trans-Pacific trade treaty set for Thursday
The Missouri Trade Justice Coalition will host a forum Thursday evening on the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership trade treaty that is headed toward Congress.
The program is scheduled from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the offices of the Communications Workers of America Local 6360, at 6415 Universal Ave., in Kansas City. The event is open to the public.
The Missouri Trade Justice Coalition represents labor, environmental, human rights, farm and community organizations throughout Missouri.
The trade treaty, in the works for years, is supported by President Obama.
The United States and 11 other countries are TPP members.
