KC-based Burns & McDonnell makes Fortune’s 100 ‘Best Companies’ list

Kansas City-based Burns & McDonnell has been named to Fortune magazine’s annual list of the 100 best companies to work for.

This is the fifth time the privately-held engineering firm has made the Fortune list, which was released Thursday. Burns & McDonnell was No. 15 in this year’s rankings.

While it’s the only area company recognized, a number of firms with operations in the region were also honored.

The magazine recognizes companies that have exceptional workplace cultures based partly on an evaluation of company programs and practices. This year’s No. 1 company is Google Inc.
