Sullivan Higdon & Sink launches new subsidiary
The Kansas City advertising agency of Sullivan Higdon & Sink has launched a new company that focuses on the growing field of service design consulting.
The new company, Volcanic LLC, is being managed during its startup phase by John January, who is also Sullivan Higdon & Sink’s executive creative director.
January will serve as an executive on loan, according to a news release announcing the business launch. Yosef Shuman is Volcanic’s lead service designer.
Volcanic, which will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Sullivan Higdon & Sink, said it already has its first client.
Service design uses research and other methodologies to help companies enhance customer service experiences.
“The U.S. economy is already 80 percent service-based,” January said. “That means that unique service proposition has to replace the unique selling proposition as the primary point of competitive advantage.”
