KC-area coffee shops owned by women pour a cup for entrepreneurs
Female entrepreneurs are taking the lead Thursday in the Kansas City area’s lineup of events for Global Entrepreneurship Week, which was founded in 2008 by the Kauffman Foundation.
The day starts with co-working sessions at five area coffee shops owned by women.
Anyone is welcome at the Coffee & Coworking sessions from 8:30 to 10 a.m. The shops taking part are A Cup on The Hill and KC Cupcake Co. Cafe, both in Kansas City, Kan.; t.Loft’s Country Club Plaza location; Twisted Sisters Coffee Shop in Mission; and Mildred’s Coffeehouse in Kansas City.
Female entrepreneurs will be featured during the Athena League’s November VOX. It will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Nerdery in Kansas City. Tickets cost $5.
Kris Adair of MyCroft AI, Gretchen Henry of ConsultUS, and Kacie Saunders of FEWDM each will speak about Kansas City’s role in their ventures and their companies’ success in the 2016 LaunchKC grant competition.
A simultaneous evening event is being held by the Midwest Women’s Business Enterprise Council. The networking event features wine tasting, a silent auction and the introduction of the council’s new director, Adrienne Haynes. The event is sold out.
