Nonprofit Connect picks eight ‘rising star’ volunteers
The Kansas City-based nonprofit networking organization Nonprofit Connect said Thursday that it is honoring eight area residents for their volunteer activities and philanthropy.
Honorees and a sample of their nonprofit involvements are Matthew Clark, Junior Achievement of Middle America; Tom Dowling, Kansas City Public Television; Sheri Gormley, Girls on the Run; Tom Houlehan, The Bacchus Foundation; Dean Newton, Children’s Advocacy Foundation and Project Smile; Kelly and Steve Stewman, Big Brothers and Big Sisters; Courtney Wachal, Sheffield Place and Step Up.
