Furniture Mall of Kansas has about 100 job openings in Olathe
The Furniture Mall of Kansas is looking to hire about 100 employees for its new Olathe store scheduled to open in May.
The family-owned company, which is remodeling the former Benchmark Home Furnishings building at Interstate 35 and 119th Street, plans to hold career fairs on three Saturdays — Feb. 28, March 7 and March 14.
The three events, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., will be held at the Olathe location of Bass Pro Shops, which is near the furniture store complex. The store owners and hiring managers will be on site.
The company said it will hire sales managers; specialists in furniture, flooring and mattresses; delivery drivers; distribution center workers and others. Job options will include full-time and part-time hours with pay ranges covering a wide spectrum.
The Furniture Mall consists of five stores under one roof: RoomMakers, Marling’s Furniture, Discovery Furniture, Mattress Headquarters and Abbey Flooring Headquarters.
The company, which started in 1933, is based in Topeka and owned by the Winter family. It plans to close its Lawrence store next month in preparation for opening in Olathe.
