Leawood-based Aratana makes long-lasting local anesthetic commercially available
Aratana Therapeutics, a Leawood-based pet pharmaceutical company, on Wednesday said a cranial cruciate ligament surgery product for dogs is now commercially available.
Nocita, which was approved in August by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Center for Veterinary Medicine, will be available for shipping to surgeons this month, the company said.
Aratana said Nocita is a long-lasting, local anesthetic that lasts up to 72 hours after surgery.
Aratana, which is publicly traded, licenses, develops and takes to market pharmaceutical products for dogs and cats.
