KC police identify man found shot dead inside vehicle near The Paseo on Sunday

Kansas City police say they have identified the man found shot to death inside a vehicle on Sunday.

Police on Monday identified the victim as Keevon U. Mitchell, 46.

Police previously said officers were dispatched to East 56th Street and Woodland Avenue around 11:30 a.m. for a vehicle accident before they found the victim inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound. The man was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death was the Kansas City metro’s 27th homicide of the year, according to a tally kept by The Star.
