Man found shot dead inside vehicle near The Paseo on Sunday, Kansas City police say

Kansas City police are searching for more details after a man was found shot to death inside a vehicle Sunday morning, police say.

Officers were dispatched to East 56th Street and Woodland Avenue around 11:30 a.m. for a vehicle accident before they found the victim inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound, according to Kansas City police Sgt. Phil DiMartino.

The man was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. It is the Kansas City metro’s 27th homicide of the year, according to the tally kept by The Star.
