A two-vehicle crash left three children seriously injured late Saturday in Olathe, police said.

Three children were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash late Saturday in Johnson County, police said.

Officers with the Olathe Police Department were called to the scene of a crash at about 10:14 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of East Old 56 Highway and Mahaffie Street, according to a news release.

Three children from one of the vehicles were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police said. The driver of that vehicle, along with two other children, left the scene uninjured.

The driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle, an adult, was not injured, authorities said.

The crash remains under investigation by Olathe police. No other information was immediately released.
