Police identify man who got sick, left car and was fatally hit by multiple vehicles

Police identified the pedestrian who was struck by multiple vehicles and killed Friday on Interstate 70 in Kansas City.

Nicholas Fox, 22, of Independence was hit by at least two cars around 3 a.m. near I-70 and Interstate 435, according to the Kansas City Police Department.

The Kia Sorento that Fox was a passenger in pulled over on the shoulder of I-70 East when he got sick, police said. For unknown reasons, Fox decided to climb out the window of car when the driver opened it for him, police said.

While Fox stood in the road, he was hit first by a vehicle that didn’t stop and couldn’t be identified by police. Fox was then hit by a Buick Enclave, which stopped.
