Kansas City police ask for public’s help finding 87-year-old missing woman with dementia

Kansas City police have asked for the public’s help finding an elderly woman with dementia who was last seen early Sunday morning.

Bessie Collins, 87, was last seen at about 1 a.m. Sunday in the area of East 49th Street and Walrond Avenue, police said. At the time, she was wearing black pants, a black jacket and red shoes.

Collins is about 5-feet-9-inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds, police said. She has gray hair and brown eyes.

“She has dementia and easily forgets where she is or how to get home,” police said in a news release.

Anyone who see Collins is asked to call 911.
