Schlitterbahn's Jeff Henry facing Texas investigation stemming from threat allegation
Less than 24 hours after making his first appearance in a Kansas court to respond to second-degree murder charges, Schlitterbahn co-owner Jeff Henry faces a new investigation in Texas after a woman said he threatened her.
The New Braunfels, Texas, Police Department confirmed it received a phone call Friday morning from a woman who said Henry made the threat at a property owned by the Henry family.
When police officers arrived at the property, Henry was no longer there, according to New Braunfels police spokesman David Ferguson. As of Friday afternoon, police had not located Henry.
"We've not had any contact with him," Ferguson said.
Henry has not been charged with a crime.
Ferguson said police are investigating the possibility of a misdemeanor threat charge.
A police report was not immediately available, pending the ongoing investigation. No other details were immediately available from the police.
KSHB TV-41 reported Friday that Henry returned to Texas from Kansas on Thursday to find that unidentified people whom Henry let stay at his New Braunfels home had ransacked and burglarized the property. Henry then confronted them.
Henry is accused of second-degree murder and other felony counts related to a 2016 death of a boy on the Verruckt water slide at the Schlitterbahn location in Kansas City, Kan.
The incident took place not long after Henry arrived back home after posting bond and facing a Wyandotte County judge for his first appearance on the charges, made in a grand jury indictment.
Henry's attorney told KSHB TV-41 he was concerned that Henry's bond could be revoked if he is charged in the Texas incident.
