MSC Cruises is pulling out all the stops with its next flagship, MSC World Asia, debuting in December 2026. The follow-up to MSC World America - one of TIME's "World's Greatest Places of 2026," MSC World Asia will feature an even more immersive atmosphere across spaces inspired by the culture, art, and landscapes of Asia.

Outdoor entertainment will be elevated on the new megaship by a redesigned take on The Harbour, a huge family playground at sea featuring an array of activities, including a water park, ropes course, play deck, and the thrilling Cliffhanger over-water swing ride.

At the center of all the action is The Spiral @ Tree of Life, a record-breaking attraction that combines a vibrant top-deck design element and an exhilarating way to get from The Harbour to the World Promenade, 12 decks below.

With less than six months to go until MSC World Asia's debut in the Mediterranean, MSC Cruises shared a sneak peek of the ship's impressive central feature - an attraction that pairs a Supertree-inspired architectural element with the longest dry slide to come to a cruise ship yet.

"Our World Class ships have been a great success with guests, and MSC World Asia, the third of eight in this class, marks the next step in this journey," said MSC Cruises CEO Gianni Onorato. "As we look ahead to her inaugural Mediterranean season, we are proud to continue delivering ships that reflect our vision, innovation, beautiful design, and focus on the guest experience, with each one raising the bar even further."

MSC World Asia's The Spiral @ Tree of Life to claim longest dry slide at sea title

About 16 feet longer than MSC World America's Jaw Drop dry slide - and slightly longer than Royal Caribbean's 259-foot Ultimate Abyss slide on Utopia of the Seas - MSC World Asia's The Spiral @ Tree of Life will stretch 266 feet across 12 decks.

While its size is impressive, what makes the attraction really stand out is what it layers together: a megaship thrill, plus a fun and fast connection between two entertainment hubs, and a distinctive destination-inspired design element on the ship's top deck.

Designed for all ages, The Spiral will offer an exciting way to skip the elevator to get from The Harbour to the World Promenade far below, another open-air space for ocean views, dining, and entertainment.

Anchoring the slide at the top of the ship is the Tree of Life, an eye-catching architectural feature that ties in the ship's Asian theme. The stats are impressive too: the Tree of Life rises 32 feet above the deck, weighs close to eight tons. It will be fitted with more than 492 feet of integrated LED lighting to enable its look and feel to evolve throughout the day.

The Tree of Life draws inspiration from Singapore's Supertrees

One of the ship's architectural elements inspired by contemporary Asian cities, the Tree of Life is modeled after the iconic Supertrees of Singapore's Gardens by the Bay. Its striking design brings a unique destination-inspired feel to a cruise ship entertainment space.

During the day, the Tree of Life will serve as a visual landmark in a social gathering space - families can meet under it, grab lunch, play, and decide whether they're brave enough to take the slide down to explore the World Promenade. Come evening, the atmosphere will shift as integrated lighting transforms the Tree of Life into a glowing centerpiece amidst music and energetic activities for families and groups.

Currently under construction at Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, MSC World Asia will begin its inaugural season of Mediterranean cruises on Dec. 4, 2026. The ship will sail seven-night itineraries to some of the Mediterranean's most popular destinations, including Barcelona, Spain; Marseille, France; Valletta, Malta; and Messina, Civitavecchia (the cruise port for Rome), and Naples in Italy.

If The Spiral @ Tree of Life is any indication of what the rest of MSC World Asia has in store, cruising the Mediterranean is about to get even more exciting as electrifying thrills and innovative, intentional design meet some of the world's most epic destinations.
