Which is the KC area’s best cinnamon roll? Pick a winner from our final four
Update: Voting has now ended, and the winner will be featured soon in a Star story.
When it comes to cinnamon rolls, few among us can have just one.
Many among us have been tempted by the ooey, gooey texture or the perfect sweet flavor to go for multiple little treats.
But when it comes to The Star’s cinnamon roll poll, one is going to have to be enough. It’s time to pick the winner of the best cinnamon rolls in the Kansas City area.
After more than 380 responses to our initial call for bakers serving up the most perfect rich treats, it comes down to four favorites, all in suburbs on the Missouri side of the metro.
The four finalists are Granny’s Bakery in Belton, The Paperback Bakery in Lee’s Summit, Simply Grand in Grandview and Wild Flour in Parkville.
In their initial submissions, fans of the bakeries had plenty to say about their tasty cinnamon rolls:
Of Granny’s, one local said: “They are big and not too sweet. Love the new flavors she always has. Very affordable.” Such flavors currently include blueberry lemon and orange sweet rolls.
The Paperback Bakery’s rolls are “super fluffy with the amount of cinnamon and sugar. Very generous portion and absolutely perfect when warmed up and smothered with cream cheese icing!” a fan wrote.
Simply Grand’s journey to the final round started with one submission that said the rolls were “always fresh, buttery.”
Wild Flour serves a treat that one Star reader described as “homemade, perfect size, very flavorful and much lighter than you would expect from a regular cinnamon roll.”
So which one will you back? Vote in the poll below. Voting goes through Sunday, Aug. 10, after which a Star journalist will go check out the winner for themself and report back.
