With prolific pop star Taylor Swift readying for the Kansas City leg of her Eras Tour, local bakeries are keeping the festivities “sweet like honey.”

Best Regards Bakery & Cafe, at 6759 W. 119th St. in Overland Park, and Dolce Bakery, at 3930 W. 69th Terrace in Prairie Village, are selling Swiftie-themed cakes and cookies until the concerts on July 7 and 8 at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

Best Regards’ sugar cookies ($34.82 for eight) are decorated with heart sunglasses, mirror balls and tear-stained guitars to honor various albums throughout her career. The shop also sells Swift’s famous chai sugar cookies using a tweaked version of the recipe the singer made famous on Tumblr.

The shop frequently decorates cookies to fit pop culture and Kansas City celebrations. It sold thousands of Chiefs-themed cookies ahead of this year’s Super Bowl and featured cookies paying homage to the movies “Hocus Pocus” and “The Little Mermaid.”

While past promotions drew lines out the door, the Swift cookies might be their most successful yet, said co-owner Cherrie Duensing.

“We knew we wanted to do it for the concert, but we didn’t realize how big it was going to be between now and the concert,” she said.

A Swiftie herself, Duensing said she’s impressed with the star’s loyal fan base. Customers of all ages have been putting in orders.

“She’s got that businesswoman side that I admire,” Duensing said. “I think she sets a good example for gals.”

Dolce Bakery is selling Swiftie snack cakes ($15.50) in chocolate and vanilla flavors, some with lyrics from the 2010 album “Speak Now,” which will be re-released July 7.

Chief Operating Officer Kathleen Cussen said the promotion is largely because the shop’s staff is “die-hard Swifties.”

The snack cakes are available for preorder until July 5 and will be sold in the shop July 5 to 8.

The bakery is also offering heart-shaped cakes ($25) from each of Swift’s 10 eras.

Dolce is announcing the cake designs one at a time through its Instagram, and the eras cakes will only be available to order over the phone at 913-236-4411.

Cussen said her employees reached out to Swift’s team to see if the singer would like some cakes herself but said they haven’t heard back yet.

“Fingers crossed,” she said.
