Johnson County restaurant serving pizza bowls, Italian subs and cheesy bread now open
An Ohio-based pizza chain is opening its seventh location in the Kansas City area — this time in Overland Park.
Marco’s Pizza, which offers pizza with a variety of toppings, as well as crustless pizza bowls, salads and subs, opened its third Johnson County location at 8930 W. 95th St. on May 20.
The newest Kansas City-area restaurant is taking over the former location of a Little Caesars Pizza.
The chain also has locations in Shawnee, Olathe, Blue Springs and Independence.
Franchise owner Rakan Dogum, once a regional director of operations for IHOP, lived half a mile from his restaurant’s current location. After falling in love with the area, he realized something was missing.
“I thought they were in need of a good pizzeria locally,” Dogum said.
Dogum said Marco’s has won awards for its pizza at the International Pizza Expo in Las Vegas. The chain’s website boasts that it’s one of the fastest growing pizza brands in the U.S., with over 1,100 locations.
The Overland Park shop is open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays through Fridays and 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. Saturdays.
