‘Sesame Street’ podcast with Big Bird and the gang coming soon. Here’s how to listen

“Sesame Street” has been a TV fixture for more than 50 years, and fans will soon have another way to enjoy the iconic show.

Audible and Sesame Workshop announced Wednesday the upcoming launch of “The Sesame Street Podcast with Foley & Friends.” The podcast will be hosted by Sesame Street character Foley and will feature Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster and more of the show’s popular characters.

It is set to debut Oct. 15 exclusively on the podcast service Audible.

“As families’ media habits evolve, Sesame Workshop is ready to meet them wherever they are with engaging content that sparks playful learning,” Scott Chambers, Sesame Workshop’s Senior Vice President/General Manager, Educational Media and Licensing, North America said in a statement. “Together with Audible, we’re creating a rich audio-only world that will come to life in kids’ imaginations. We can’t wait for our friends at home to explore the sounds of Sesame Street in a whole new way.”

The podcast will provide educational content for preschool-age children. Fifteen-minute episodes ”will revolve around a different preschool-friendly topic, from vehicles to birthdays to learning the alphabet,” according to a release. Some of the TV show’s favorite recurring moments, such as “Elmo’s Joke of the Day” and “The Letter of the Day” will also be includes.

Fifteen episodes will be released Tuesdays and Thursdays next month and will be a part of the Audible Plus catalog, Audible said.
