These were the highest-earning prizes at the Big Slick charity auction in KC
Celebrity fundraiser Big Slick again brought in millions for Children’s Mercy this week, despite being confined to just two events instead of three like usual. The show at the T-Mobile Center broke records for individual prizes twice.
At the end of Saturday night, Big Slick raised a total of $4,241,814. Over $500,000 of this money came from just the live auction items sold at the show. It fell short of last year’s total fundraising of $4.5 million.
Led by a cohort of celebrities from the Kansas City area, the 2026 Big Slick event did not include the traditional softball game at Kauffman Stadium due to scheduling conflicts related to the FIFA World Cup. Instead, the stars put on a special night of entertainment on Friday, and then performed their typical big show at T-Mobile Center on Saturday, including a live auction.
The first live auction item to be bid on was a red carpet premiere night with Rob Riggle for his movie “Jimmy.” “Jimmy” is a biographical drama film telling the story of an award-winning star choosing to serve his country over fame.
The experience was sold for $31,500.
The next item was a visit, guided by Melissa Patterson, to the set of the NBC sitcom starring Reba McEntire, “Happy Place.” Patterson was on stage sharing details about the action item, even telling the audience that she would pick them up from the audience in her RAV4. It was settled that the prize would be extended to three people. Two people paid $25,000, and one person paid $21,000 for the prize.
Paul Rudd extended the invitation for two to attend the world premiere of “Avengers: Doomsday” and red carpet experience this December in Los Angeles.
After an intense bidding war, the prize was sold for $100,000, breaking the record for the highest bid. In 2025, Rudd also set the record by auctioning two tickets to the world premiere of his upcoming movie, “Anaconda.” Those tickets sold for $55,000.
Rudd’s record was almost immediately shattered. Two tickets to go to the season premiere of “Ted Lasso” on July 27 were up for the bid. Sudeikis, who plays Ted Lasso, threw in two more sets of tickets after the audience found itself competing for the item.
The three sets of tickets were sold for $120,000, making a grand total of $360,000 for the item.
The night concluded with the audience generously donating en masse. Four people donated $25,000, two donated $15,000 and many more gave in lesser amounts.
