KC’s new concert venue opens soon. What can you bring to Morton Amphitheater?
Before you arrive to the Kansas City area’s newest music venue, make sure you’re aware of what you’re allowed to bring into the building.
The Morton Amphitheater in Riverside will officially open June 3 when pop singer Kesha is set to perform. Like any venue, there are rules set for what you’re allowed to bring into the space.
The only bags allowed in the venue are clear plastic/vinyl tote bags and small clutch bags. The clear bags must be no bigger than 12 inches tall, 6 inches wide and 12 inches deep. The small bags must be no bigger than 6 inches tall and 9 inches wide. Small bags don’t have to be clear, but any other bags are not allowed.
The amphitheater also has lists of what you can and cannot bring inside the venue. Here’s what to know.
What items am I allowed to bring into the Morton Amphitheater?
Aside from bags that meet the venues’ policy, here’s what else you can bring to the Morton Amphitheater:
- Bug spray and sunscreen — non-aerosol only
- Cameras — nonprofessional only, no detachable lenses
- Food — must be in a clear, 1-gallon ziplock bag
- Water — up to 1 gallon in a factory-sealed or empty plastic bottle. Camelback hydration packs are not allowed
- Medication — with prescription documentation and a matching a valid photo ID. Only the amount of medication/number of doses required for the length of the event will be allowed.
- Signs — up to 8.5 x 11 inches, the size of a standard piece of paper. All signs must be “appropriate in nature.”
- Blankets are permitted for most shows, with some exceptions. Blankets should not be oversized, and no bedsheets or tarps are allowed.
What items can I not bring into the Morton Amphitheater?
The following items are prohibited from the Morton Amphitheater:
- Alcohol
- Animals (except service animals)
- Bags that do not meet the venues’ policy
- Cans
- Chairs of any kind
- Coolers of any kind
- Fireworks
- Glass or metal containers (reusable water bottles must be plastic)
- Illegal drugs/substances
- Laser pointers
- Professional cameras (oversized/detachable lenses)
- Strollers
- Umbrellas
- Weapons of any kind
Can I smoke at the amphitheater?
You can smoke in designated locations on the plaza. Morton Amphitheater asks people not to smoke in the reserved or covered seating areas, and to be considerate when smoking around others.
