‘See You Again’ singer returns to Kansas City. What to know before you go
It’s been a long time since fans in Kansas City have seen pop singer Charlie Puth on stage. They can soon tell their friends about it when they see him again Wednesday, May 13.
The New Jersey-born singer and songwriter is back at Starlight Theatre for the first time since 2018 as a part of his Whatever’s Clever! World Tour. His latest album of the same name released in March, featuring appearances from Kenny G, Coco Jones, Hikaru Utada and Jeff Goldblum.
He gained fame from YouTube videos of him singing covers and was later signed to former talk show host Ellen DeGeneres’ Warner Bros.-affiliated label, eleveneleven, in 2010.
His popularity expanded after the release of “See You Again” with hip-hop star Wiz Khalifa, written for the 2015 smash hit film “Furious 7,” in honor of actor Paul Walker, who died in 2013. The song was at the top of the US Billboard Hot 100 for 12 non-consecutive weeks and received nominations at 2016 Grammy, Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Movie Awards.
The 34-year-old singer brings a bubblier sound to Starlight’s outdoor venue. Here’s what you need to know before you go.
How much do tickets cost for Charlie Puth?
Ticket prices to see Charlie Puth in Kansas City range from $40.95 in the terrace, $52.45 in the plaza, $76.20 in the box and $97.95 in the orchestra sections.
Starlight also offers a deal where you can buy four tickets in the terrace section for $129.

Everyone who buys tickets to a Starlight show will have access to a mobile ticket wallet, which you can share with others and add to your Apple wallet. You will have to log in to Starlight to access the tickets.
Where can I park at Starlight Theatre?
General parking is available free at Starlight Theatre, located in lots surrounding the outdoor venue. Premium parking spots close to the entrances are available for $35, and must be purchased in events.
Depending on when you arrive, you will be directed to the red, green, purple or yellow lots on concrete or the north and south grass lots. Guests with premium parking passes should enter from Meyer Boulevard and follow signs through Swope Park to Mall Drive.
When does Charlie Puth perform?
The gates open at 6 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. with opening acts Daniel Seavey and Ally Salort taking the stage. Puth is expected to start his set around 9 p.m.
Can I bring a bag inside Starlight Theatre?
Starlight has a clear bag policy similar to the policy enforced by the Kansas City Chiefs at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
Visitors can only bring in:
- Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches
- One-gallon clear zip-seal bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
- Small clutch bags that do not exceed 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches
