Paul Simon returns to Kansas City in 2026. Here’s when tickets go on sale
Starlight Theatre’s set for a quiet night when legendary singer and songwriter Paul Simon visits this summer.
The outdoor amphitheater announced that Simon, the 84-year-old two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, will play in Kansas City as a part of an extension to his A Quiet Celebration Tour. Presale tickets for Live Nation and Starlight go on sale at 10 am. Wednesday, Feb. 4, and tickets for the general public go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 6.
“Paul Simon brings his unmistakable voice, timeless songs, and masterful musicianship to Starlight for a night shaped by decades of unforgettable music,” Starlight said in a statement. “From beloved classics to deeper cuts that reward true fans, this concert promises an evening of lyric, rhythm, and reflection under the stars.”
Simon made his return to touring in 2025, seven years after announcing that he’s retiring from touring due to hearing loss. During his 2025 portion, he played at Midland Theater on April 26. He also surprised fans of “Saturday Night Live” when he appeared during the sketch-comedy’s 50th anniversary special to play alongside pop superstar Sabrina Carpenter.
He has released 15 solo studio albums and five albums with Art Garfunkel throughout his career spanning eight decades, including contributions to the soundtrack to the 1967 film “The Graduate,” which won the 1968 Grammy Award for “Best Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or Television Special.“ Mrs. Robinson” from the album received the Grammy for “Record of the Year.”
Along with the Record of the Year-winning song, Simon can claim timeless classics like “You Can Call Me Al,” “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover,” “Graceland,” “The Sound of Silence,” “The Boxer” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water.”
Other accolades include being the first recipient of the Library of Congress’ Gershwin Prize for Popular Song and Kennedy Center Honors in 2002, the nation’s highest award to performing and cultural artists.
Simon is the latest to a growing number of artists coming to Kansas City in 2026, which is stacked with performers like Cardi B, Guns N’ Roses, Doja Cat, Chris Stapleton and more.
