Dave Matthews Band returns to KC for first time in 10 years. Tickets on sale soon
No concert from the Dave Matthews Band is the same, and Kansas City-area fans will get their first unique show from the Virginia-based jam band in a decade.
Also known as DMB, the band returns to the area Wednesday, June 24, at the new Morton Amphitheater in Riverside, 17 minutes north from downtown Kansas City. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, on Ticketmaster.
Fans can also sign up for The Warehouse, the official Dave Matthews Band fan association, to get early access to tickets.
The band, led by namesake Dave Matthews, has cultivated a loyal following since its first major label album release, “Remember Two Things,” in 1993.
The band has encouraged fans to record any of their shows and share it with others through tape-trading or posting it online, since they’d play songs differently for each performance.
They would also switch the set list for every show, so there’s no guarantee DMB would play fan favorites like “Ants Marching,” “Crash into Me,” “#41” or “Satellite.” Attendees should be prepared to hear anything from their three-decade long discography or surprise covers from other artists.
The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024, and their last seven studio albums all debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts, dating back to 1998.
DMB last played in the area in 2016 at Azura Amphitheater, according to fan-run site AntsMarching.org. Their last show within the city limits of Kansas City was in 2009 at T-Mobile Center.
