From ‘Midwest Princess’ to Taylor Swift: See Kansas City’s 2025 Spotify Wrapped
Happy Spotify Wrapped day to those who celebrate.
On Dec. 3, the streaming service released its annual reports on users’ most-listened to artists and songs for its 10th year in a row. Alongside the reports for individual users, Spotify revealed the most played songs and artists for areas across the world, including in major cities in the U.S.
For Kansas City, three of the city’s five most streamed song were from one artist, as well as one song from an artist with strong ties to Missouri. Here’s what we learned:
Who was Kansas City’s most played artist in 2025, according to Spotify?
This might not come as a shock for many, but Taylor Swift took the top spot for Kansas City’s most-listened to artist. Swift was also the second-biggest artist globally, right behind Bad Bunny.
It only makes sense that the superstar that’s engaged to Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce is KC’s top artist. 2025 was an active year for Swift, who released her No. 1 album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” in October.
What were Kansas City’s most streamed songs in 2025, according to Spotify?
One of KC’s most streamed songs is from a Missouri native. Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” was the third most streamed song by Kansas Citians, despite the song releasing in 2023.
In fact, nearly all the most streamed songs for Kansas City weren’t released in 2025. Three of the songs were from Kendrick Lamar, which includes his 2024 global hit and Drake diss track, “Not Like Us.”
These are Kansas City’s top five most streamed songs in 2025, according to Spotify:
1. “luther” by Kendrick Lamar and SZA
2. “Ordinary” by Alex Warren
3. “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell Roan
4. “tv off” by Kendrick Lamar and Lefty Gunplay
5. “Not Like Us” by Kendrick Lamar
Roan performed at the National WWI Museum and Memorial, which drew 60,000 fans during her sold-out shows Oct. 3-4. Warren is set to perform at T-Mobile Center next summer June. 21.
