Kansas City’s favorite ice venue is about to open. Other rinks will follow

The 53rd season of the area’s longest-running outdoor ice skating rink, the Crown Center Ice Terrace, is set to begin Friday, Nov. 7, with a free skating session.

Four other outdoor skating venues also will begin operations in the ensuing month.

That includes the Soul of Santa Winter Wonderland on Ice, which debuted last year in the 18th and Vine District. It will move to Troost Avenue at East Meyer Boulevard and is scheduled to open Dec. 7.

Hours vary widely and could change because of the weather, so check websites before venturing out.
