These artists are opening for Chappell Roan in KC. Check out their biggest hits
At the Pink Pony Club, these two acts will go “on the stage in my heels” before Chappell Roan in Kansas City.
Roan’s official fan page, @chappellroanfandemonium on Instagram, recently shared the opening acts for Roan’s Kansas City shows: Japanese Breakfast on Friday, Oct. 3 and Baby Tate on Saturday, Oct. 4.
The two acts will perform for crowds of approximately 30,000 at Museum and Memorial Park, which is the lawn area in front of Liberty Memorial and the National World War I Museum and Memorial.
Roan’s home state of Missouri is one of three locations for “Visions of Damsels & Other Dangerous Things,” which starts in New York City and ends in Los Angeles. Tickets for all eight concerts are sold out.
Singer Hemlocke Springs will open for two shows in New York and both California shows.
Roan has not yet shared information about drag performers at her Kansas City show. Roan, who cites drag as one of her influences, usually includes local drag performers at her tour stops. When Roan performed at the Midland in 2024, queens Ultraviolet, Karmella Uchawi and Minti Varieties took the stage before her.
Brush off your cowboy boots and hot pink hats, because both Kansas City concerts will be Pink Pony Club themed.
The fan page has also shared additional information for Kansas City concertgoers, including official pre-parties and things to do in Kansas City.
Before you learn the “HOT TO GO!” dance, here’s what to know about the opening acts.
Who is Japanese Breakfast?
The band Japanese Breakfast will open for Chappell Roan on Friday, Oct. 3. Led by singer-songwriter, Michelle Zauner, the band is known for its indie pop songs. Zauner, who identifies as bisexual, wrote the bestselling memoir “Crying in H Mart.”
In addition to performing in Kansas City, Japanese Breakfast will open for Roan at two of the four New York City shows.
Japanese Breakfast’s five most played songs on Spotify are “Be Sweet,” “Road Head,” “Boyish,” “Kokomo, IN” and “Everybody Wants to Love You.”
Who is Baby Tate?
On Saturday, Oct. 4, Baby Tate will take the stage before Chappell Roan. The singer and rapper, previously known as Yung Baby Tate, describes her music as “summery pop, amorous R&B, and hard-hitting hip-hop,” in her Spotify biography.
Baby Tate will open for Roan on one night only, for good reason. The pansexual performer said she will be 33-weeks pregnant at the Kansas City show.
Baby Tate’s most played songs on Spotify are her feature on Ashnikko’s “STUPID” and “Hey, Mickey!”, “I Am (feat. Flo Milli),” “Sl*t Him Out” and “Sl*t Him Out Again (feat. Kaliii).”
