‘Unreal day’: Gracie Hunt, family spend Monaco holiday with racing and a prince

As holidays go, it doesn’t get much more glamorous than spending one in Monaco ... watching Formula 1 racing ... and meeting a prince.

That was the Memorial Day weekend for Chiefs “royalty” — owner Clark Hunt and his family.

Daughter Gracie posted photos of the entire family at the famous Monaco Grand Prix where they just happened to meet Prince Albert II of Monaco, the 67-year-old son of the late Princess Grace of Monaco, American actress Grace Kelly.

Her mother, Tavia Hunt, called it an “unreal day.”

“Still floating from the most magical time in Monaco!” Tavia wrote on Instagram, where she noted attending dinners at the Prince’s Palace of Monaco and aboard a yacht named Lionheart, and thanked Red Bull Racing for their “world-class hospitality.”

“Every moment was pure enchantment — grateful beyond words,” she wrote.

It’s been a busy time for the family.

A few days before the race the second-oldest of the Hunt children, son Knobel, graduated from Southern Methodist University with a bachelor’s degree in finance, joining his father and older sister, Gracie, as alumni of the Dallas school.

The Monaco Grand Prix is known for what happens on and off the course, traditionally drawing some of the most glamorous crowds in Formula 1 racing.

The world’s finest, most luxurious superyachts from around the world pull up close to the course in historic Port Hercule. A record number were in Monaco this year, according to boating publications.

The Hunts spent time on one of the biggest — the Benetti Lionheart owned by British retailing billionaire Sir Philip Green.

Here’s an idea of what the harbor looked like over the weekend, clogged with yachts.

“The Monaco Grand Prix isn’t just about fast cars and tight turns, it’s also one of the most stylish weekends on the calendar,” Harper’s Bazaar noted in its roundup of the celebrities who attended this year, including Jeff Bezos and the soon-to-be Mrs. Amazon, Lauren Sanchez.

“Fashion fans know the Grand Prix has become a hub for some of the most covetable outfits, with celebrities flocking in droves to catch the action. Set along the glitzy coastline of Monte Carlo, the thrill of Formula 1 mixed with the buzz of a Euro summer getaway makes for an unbeatable scene.”

The Hunts shared that rarefied air with Dua Lipa, Naomi Campbell, Patrick Dempsey, Sofia Vergara and Lewis Hamilton.

Rarefied isn’t exactly the word to describe what happened to the race team that Chiefs players Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce have invested money in.

It’s probably a good thing they stayed away from their boss’ European vacation.

Neither of the two Alpine team drivers scored points in the race and driver Pierre Gasly was involved in a crash early on with Red Bull driver Yuki Tsunoda that earned him a reprimand.
