Cinco de Mayo celebrations in KC will feature hit ‘70s band, horses and more
War is coming to Kansas City.
The band that produced the 1970s hits “Spill the Wine,” “The World Is a Ghetto,” “Why Can’t We Be Friends?” and “Low Rider” will play a free concert as part of the annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta at the Guadalupe Centers.
The two-day event celebrating Mexico’s victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, will feature live bands and other entertainment as well as vendors, art booths and children’s activities. War is scheduled to play at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, May 3.
Also on Saturday will be 5 de Mayo Mexican Culture Pride Day in Kansas City, Kansas. The highlights will include the Charro Dancing Horses along with food, arts and other live entertainment.
