Kevin Hart is back in Kansas City for a show at Starlight. But put your phone away
Superstar comedian Kevin Hart is back in Kansas City as part of his Acting My Age tour. The 45-year-old will perform at Starlight Theatre on Friday, days after he helped kick off NBC’s 2024 Summer Olympics coverage.
Hart’s last performance in Kansas City was in November 2022, and it had to be moved from the Kauffman Center to the T-Mobile Center due to high demand.
Starlight Theatre holds fewer fans than the T-Mobile Center, around 7,739 seats total. Few tickets remain to see the comedian, who starred in the “Jumanji” movie reboot and “Central Intelligence.” This year, he also became the youngest recipient of the Kennedy Center’s annual Mark Twain Prize for American Comedy.
Opening acts haven’t been announced yet, but the show is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. Parking lots open at 5:30 p.m.
But you may to want to leave your phone in your car if you decide to go. Here’s what to know before the show.
Is there a no phone policy?
Many comedians enforce no-cellphone policies for their shows, and Kevin Hart is no exception. The comedian’s performance will be a phone-free experience.
When guests arrive to Starlight Theatre, all phones, smartwatches and electronic devices will be secured in individual pouches made by the company Yondr that will be opened at the end of the show. Guests keep the pouches with them and can only access their phones in designated areas. The devices are re-secured in the pouches before returning to their seat.
“Anyone seen using a device (phone, smart watch or accessories) during the performance will be escorted out of the venue,” Starlight says.

What can I bring inside Starlight Theatre?
New to Starlight Theatre as of this year is a clear bag policy. It’s similar to the policy enforced by the Kansas City Chiefs at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
Visitors can only bring in:
Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches
One-gallon clear zip-seal bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
Small clutch bags that do not exceed 4.5 inches by 6.5 inches
Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection, Starlight said.
Where can I park for the show?
There is a bit more color around the Starlight Theatre parking lots for 2024. The venue worked with the Kansas City Zoo to create shared parking signage.
Instead of animal names, the lots are now named by color:
Zebra Lot is now Yellow Lot
Cheetah Lot is now Red Lot
Lot A is now Blue Lot
There are also the orange and green parking lots in the area.
General parking is still free at Starlight, and you can pay $30 for premium parking.
