Thousands of fans descended on Kauffman Stadium on Tuesday to see an ’80s rock and metal extravaganza.

And one superfan received the star treatment — as might be expected.

Eric Stonestreet, who grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, and starred in the hit television series “Modern Family,” got to hang out with Poison frontman Bret Michaels on and off stage. The rock star is seen in Stonestreet’s newest Instagram post posing and jamming with Stonestreet and his fiancée, Lindsay Schweitzer.

“What an awesome night in Kansas City @stadiumtour_2022 with @poison and my pal @bretmichaelsofficial,” Stonestreet writes. “Thanks Bret for taking such great care and having us on stage! It was awesome.”

In other photos, Stonestreet is rocking out in front of the crowd, holding a drumstick alongside Michaels. In a video, Michaels even demonstrates his classic bandanna fold technique for Stonestreet.

“Folks if you don’t know, Bret and the fellas are as genuine as they come,” Stonestreet writes.

Poison was performing along with Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts on the Royals’ home field. Stonestreet is a part owner of the Royals.

Days before the show, Stonestreet revealed his decades-long love for Poison. He tweeted on July 16, “Does anyone know? How much longer til @bretmichaels and Poison are at @Royals stadium for their stadium tour?”

The tweet also included a photo of Stonestreet decked out in a Poison T-shirt, hat and bandanna.

On Instagram, he said that back around 1987-88 he had worked security at Sandstone Ampitheater (now Azura) for the Poison and Tesla concert there.

Thirty-five years later, he wrote, “So this tonight was quite a full circle moment.”
