For Pete's Sake

Four rock bands from the 1980s announce ticket information for Kauffman Stadium show

If good things come to those who wait, then rock fans will be in for quite a show on July 19 at Kauffman Stadium.

That’s the day Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Poison and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts are scheduled to play on the Royals’ home field. Scheduled is the key word, because the show was twice postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was originally scheduled for June 23, 2020, then pushed back to Aug. 24. While the delays were bringing on the heartbreak for fans, the Stadium Tour is back with added shows in Las Vegas, Indianapolis and three Canadian cites.

“It’s on! We don’t think we’ve ever looked forward more to kicking off a tour than this one,” Mötley Crüe said in a statement. “We can’t wait to finally see all the fans across North America again. Get ready for a wild ride this summer!”

For fans in Kansas City who love rock ‘n’ roll, they’ll have a chance to see the show close to home sweet home. Tickets for the show in Kansas City will go on sale Feb. 25 at LiveNation.com, starting at 10 a.m.

The four groups were all listed on Ranker’s Top 100 bands from the 1980s, and promise that they will rock and roll all night.

“We are so excited to be back out on the road!” Joan Jett and the Blackhearts said in a statement. “We missed doing what we love most and can’t wait to see the fans out there again!”
