Maya Benberry confirms breakup with Chiefs’ Travis Kelce, but they’re ‘still good friends’

So maybe there will be a second season of “Catching Kelce.”

Ever since Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce picked Maya Benberry in his reality dating show, many fans were unhappy/angry.

Kelce and Benberry are active on social media, so people noticed the lack of photos of the couple together. That led to speculation that things were over, but Benberry continued to post messages that made it difficult to make a final judgment.

Then, on Dec. 22, Benberry posted a “Catching Kelce” Q&A on her YouTube channel (thanks to a reader for the tip) and answered the question herself.

“I made an announcement that me and Travis broke up, which we did,” Benberry said. “We’re still good friends. There’s literally no love lost. If anything, I feel like right now the relationship is the best it’s every been, because there’s no pressure, you know what I mean? So, he’s focusing on football, I’m focusing on my career and who knows what’s going to happen?”

Benberry also talked about her frustrations with how she was portrayed on the show.

This week, Benberry continued to tweet about how she was glad to leave the show — and all that came with it — behind.

And she wanted to impart the wisdom she learned from her experience.

For his part, Kelce never really shared anything on social media about picking Maya. She had photos on her Instagram account but took it private.
