Here is Royals catcher Salvador Perez’s sensational pickoff throw Saturday
There were some tense minutes during the Royals’ 5-3 win over the Mariners on Saturday when catcher Salvador Perez did something remarkable.
Down by two, the Mariners had runners on the corners with one out in the eighth inning when Perez picked off Kyle Seager, who wasn’t that far off first base. The next batter flied to center and the threat was over.
“That was huge right there...,” manager Ned Yost said. “It was just a perfect pickoff by Salvy right there.”
Daren Willman shared some of the Statcast numbers on Perez’s throw, and that was a 75 mph throw from one knee.
