Watch in super slow motion as Eric Hosmer takes ball off the mouth on Monday
It was going to take more than a foul ball off the mouth to get Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer out of a game. Particularly an American League Championship Series game.
Hosmer fouled a ball off the ground and it bounced off his foot and up into his mouth during the fifth inning of Monday’s Game 3. Here is the video of the play:
Watching it in super slow motion gives you even more sympathy for Hosmer. There was a general agreement that Hosmer is a tough dude:
Eric Hosmer just got hit in the mouth with a ricochet foul ball. Then got right back in the box. Part hockey player.

— Sam Hakim (@samyhak) October 20, 2015Wow. Hosmer fouls one off of his mouth, blood dripping, and still keeps his chew in. #Nails
— Tim Lawson (@timlawson4) October 20, 2015Hosmer is a savage! Takes a foul ball to the jaw and he's ready to go right away! Blood in his mouth and all! #Royals
— Matt (@543_Baseball) October 20, 2015Hosmer's mouth is swelling faster than Bautista and Donaldson's egos combined.
