Joe Buck will call the Royals-Blue Jays ALCS
Bear with me, because I want to start with a story.
In 1991, I had a friend who was a Minnesota Twins fan and another who was an Atlanta Braves fan. As it turned out, those teams met in the World Series. During the Series, each of them told me separately that they hated the TV announcers because they were clearly biased toward the other team.
That’s a preface to this: Fox and Fox Sports 1 are broadcasting the American League Championship Series between the Royals and Blue Jays.
The game coverage will be done by Joe Buck, Harold Reynolds and Tom Verducci. Yep, Joe Buck.
Last year, Royals fans were furious with Joe Buck, thinking he was far too enamored with Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner. Looking back now, can we agree that Bumgarner’s performance really was amazing? So naturally, Buck had plenty to say about Bumgarner.*
*Admission: I didn’t watch any of the broadcasts
Still, Royals fans didn’t want to hear about it...
@negativecamber_ thought this summed up listening to Joe Buck during Bumgarner pitching. Also, you going to Austin pic.twitter.com/RcNoVcMYEA

UPDATE: A petition was started to remove Buck from the ALCS.
Rob Riggle, one of the Big Slick stars, wasn’t on board:
I'm not on board w/ this. Joe @Buck is an outstanding broadcaster & a good man. Worry about other stuff #BeRoyal https://t.co/I8qWFE1GZD
