Texas governor’s official account tweets congratulations to Astros for winning ALDS

Kansas City Royals second baseman Ben Zobrist and center fielder Lorenzo Cain celebrated after they both scored in the eighth inning of Game 4 of the ALDS. The two came home on Kendrys Morales’ groundball that ricocheted off the glove of Astros pitcher Tony Sipp and bounced over the mitt of Carlos Correa, who was given an error. When the Astros took a 6-2 lead into the eighth inning, this tweet came from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott:

Naturally, it’s been deleted, but as you can see Cliff Saunders of Sports Talk 790 got the scoop:

No matter if it was a staffer, that is embarrassing because the Royals rallied to take the lead in the top of the eighth and won 9-6.

Later, Abbott tweeted this:
