Here’s the shot that won a KU student $10,000 during ‘Late Night In The Phog’
There was a new twist to Friday’s “Late Night In The Phog,” the 2015-16 Kansas basketball kickoff.
The school previously announced that Kansas would randomly select two fans at “Late Night” — one male, one female — to shoot a half-court shot. If the shot was made, Jayhawks coach Bill Self would write a check for $10,000.
As an added twist, the students could pick anyone in the building to take the shot for them — other than a current KU player or KU recruit.
Let’s just say Jerod Martin Castro, who was the male student, chose wisely. He picked former KU player and current director of basketball operations Brennan Bechard to take the shot. Bechard made it and Self wrote the check as promised:
