The goodwill between the Royals and their fans has no end.

First there was Eric Hosmer and some teammates buying drinks for fans at a local establishment after the Royals won the American League Division Series against the Angels. Then some of the Royals players won over Orioles fans by playing catch in Baltimore.

Now rookie pitcher Brandon Finnegan came up with tickets for a desperate fan. The tickets are for game four, which was scheduled for Tuesday. Now they are for Wednesday.

“He just asked for some tickets and I had a couple of extra ones,” Finnegan said with a shrug. “Instead of letting them go to waste, I gave them to him.”

Finnegan, who was the Royals’ first-round draft pick in June out of TCU, was surprised that the story took off as it did.

With an allotment of 10 tickets per game, Finnegan he was just trying to do something nice. After all, he is just a few months removed from being a student.

Knapple tweeted to Finnegan: “help a broke Royals fan out with a couple playoffs tix so I can take my gf (girlfriend).”

“I know what it’s like to be in school and not have enough money to do stuff, so I was just trying to help the guy out,” Finnegan said.

Knapple later tweeted: “I feel like I won the lottery.”
