Report: Joel Embiid likely will miss the 2015-16 season
This is sad news.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that former Kansas star Joel Embiid is likely to miss the upcoming NBA season because a second surgery will be needed for the healing of his right foot.
Embiid, Philadelphia’s first-round pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, missed all of last season following surgery after he had a stress fracture in his right foot.
Last week, Embiid was a limited participant in the 76ers minicamp.
In June, Kansas coach Bill Self told The Star’s Rustin Dodd that Embiid’s latest foot issue wasn’t a setback.
Embiid was a star for the Jayhawks in the 2013-14 season before a back injury ended his season prematurely.
