Whoa Canada: Arena full of Oilers fans sing U.S. national anthem after microphone fails
O Canada. Thank you.
Before Sunday night’s NHL playoff game between the Anaheim Ducks and Edmonton Oilers in Alberta, Canada, there was a malfunction. It ended up being a good thing.
Canadian country music singer Brett Kissel was prepared to sing The Star-Spangled Banner when he realized there was a problem with the sound system in Rogers Place in Edmonton. Or maybe it was the microphone. Kissel improvised and asked the crowd to help him sing the song. The result was magic.
An incredible moment

Kissel tweeted afterward how much he enjoyed the fan interaction.
Mic didn't work for the anthems tonight @RogersPlace. But no worries. The best singers & fans are in #OilCountry! @EdmontonOilers!
