Chiefs sign cornerback Brandon Jones, a former Charger

Just a few days after the Chargers plucked a former Chiefs cornerback off the market, the Chiefs managed to return the favor.

On Thursday, the Chiefs claimed ex-Chargers cornerback Brandon Jones off waivers.

Jones, 24, is a second-year pro who has not appeared in a regular-season game. However, at 6 feet 1 and 187 pounds, he offers the size the Chiefs prefer in a cornerback.

Jones went undrafted out of Rutgers last year and had stints with the Patriots, Giants and Steelers before the Chargers signed him in December.

San Diego waived him after they signed former Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers on Tuesday.
