Chiefs’ Dee Ford will give Auburn his support at Kansas State on Thursday
Chiefs rookie outside linebacker Dee Ford, the team’s first-round pick from Auburn, plans to be on the sidelines on Thursday night in Manhattan when his alma mater visits Kansas State.
“I hope they’re watching film,” Ford said of Kansas State. “They’re going to throw a lot at ‘em. That’s what Auburn does. Auburn doesn’t overlook anyone. We respect every opponent.”
This is the first second half of a home-and-home series between the two schools with Kansas State losing 23-13 in the 2007 season opener at Auburn..
“I watched that game,” recalled Ford, who is from Odenville, Ala. “Quintin Groves played that year, and had a great game against Kansas State.”
Indeed, Groves finished that game with five tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble.
Injury update
Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles and safety Eric Berry did not practice on Wednesday while recovering from ankle injuries.
Rookie running back De’Anthony Thomas, who missed the first two games with a hamstring strain, was on the practice field.
