‘Mr. Reliable’ Frankie Hammond Jr. steps into prominent role for Chiefs as Dwayne Bowe’s replacement

While Bowe has not practiced this week because of a quadriceps injury, Hammond has stepped into Bowe’s flanker spot with the Chiefs starters and will be a prime target in Saturday night’s preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings. If he continues to play well, Hammond could play a key role in Kansas City’s regular-season opener against Tennessee, when Bowe will serve a one-game suspension for violating the NFL’s subject abuse policy.
