Chiefs sign cornerback Shaquille Richardson
The Chiefs continue to add depth to their secondary, recently signing cornerback Shaquille Richardson to a one-year deal.
Richardson, 22, was selected in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers after a senior season at Arizona in which he recorded 55 tackles, three interceptions and four pass breakups.
Richardson did not make the Steelers' 53-man roster out of training camp, but was signed to the practice squad. He eventually reached an injury settlement with the Steelers in October and was released.
At 6 feet 1 and 188 pounds, Richardson — whose base salary for 2015 is $435,000 — possesses the size the Chiefs like in their cornerbacks. Here’s his NFL.com draft profile.
