Everyone has their thing, right, that thing they do to bring good luck to their team?
Well, it takes guts for Royals fan Jimmy Faseler of Independence to do his in public.
During the sixth inning of Monday night’s Royals win against the Cleveland Indians, fans got to watch Faseler’s spectacular show of enthusiasm on the Jumbotron.
Jeff Passan at Yahoo Sports has the storyhere
of how 28-year-old Faseler, who works with at-risk kids, is a Jumbotron regular at Kauffman Stadium.
He apparently ended up on last year’s best-of montage of Jumbotron appearances. So Royals fans recognize that belly.
The 300-pound Faseler calls his dance “Bringing the Thunder.”
Fox Sports Kansas City showed him dancing in slow motion as it went to a break during Monday’s game. Apparently Faseler’s mother saw it and sent him this text: “Hey, sweetie, saw you on TV. You need a longer shirt.”
"Cleveland’s got the guy with the drum in left field. This is our guy," Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer told Passan. "We need to bring him back.”
We’d bet a bowl full of jelly that he’ll be back. (Watch for him at tonight's game.)
And might he become the jiggly mascot for other local teams?
Tweeted Faseler on Tuesday: "The @MissouriMavs got a hold of me. To say thanks for wearing their hoodie, they will be providing me with one that fits better on Saturday."
