Top basketball recruit Bol Bol is transferring from Bishop Miege.

Miege boys basketball coach Rick Zyck confirmed the move Tuesday, saying that Bol’s family asked for his transcripts from the school earlier this week. Bol was in his junior year at Miege.

Zyck said that Bol has not contacted him to explain the transfer, and that he doesn’t know where Bol will go next. 247Sports reported Tuesday that Bol is expected to play for Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Calif.

LJ Goolsby — program director for Bol’s AAU team, KC Run GMC — did not respond to a request for comment.

“I wish him the best,” Zyck said. “He’s a great talent, and it just didn’t work out here.”

Bol, the 6-foot-11 son of former NBA player Manute Bol, is rated as a five-star recruit by multiple services, and has scholarship offers from Kansas, Creighton, New Mexico State and St. John’s.
