UMKC has three-game win streak snapped by Grand Canyon

So much for UMKC’s three-game winning streak.

The Kangaroos were routed 78-57 by Grand Canyon on Thursday night.

Daniel Alexander and Joshua Braun combined for 26 of their 39 points in the first half as Grand Canyon built a 43-23 lead at halftime and kept control of the game in the second half.

UMKC, 8-14 overall and 3-2 in the Western Athletic Conference, trailed by at least 15, and as many as 28, in the second half.

Martez Harrison led UMKC with 13 points.

Braun finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds for Grand Canyon, 12-10 and 3-2. Alexander scored 19 points, including three of five on three-pointers. Alexander also grabbed grabbed 10 boards.

Grand Canyon outrebounded the Kangaroos 41-25 and outscored them 28-11 in second-chance points.
